I'm David Wallis (on the right), a Democratic candidate running to become the town supervisor of Woodstock. Our stunning town brims with beauty, culture and incredible people. But for several years, we've lacked an incredible government. I intend to change that.

I promise to protect residents and visitors, listen to their ideas and focus on fairness. Whether you are wildly wealthy or flat broke, I'll treat you the same. And when I make a mistake, I'll own it. I care deeply about our community, having served on my local school board and on the Woodstock Fire Department, Company Two. I wrote about Woodstock's free firewood program for older and financially struggling residents and now volunteer for the grassroots organization.

Professionally, I'm an award-winning journalist, who has contributed to The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Guardian, among other publications. The skills that I developed during three decades as a reporter—expose unfairness, talk to experts across the political spectrum, check facts, get to the point—hopefully will help me succeed as an elected official.

I am humbly asking for your support.
