I'm David Wallis (on the right), a Democratic candidate running to become the town supervisor of Woodstock, New York. Our stunning town brims with beauty, culture and incredible people. But for several years, we've lacked an incredible government. I intend to change that.
I promise to protect our water, listen to ideas and focus on fairness. Whether you are wildly wealthy or flat broke, I'll treat you the same. And when I make a mistake, I'll own it. I care deeply about our community, having served on my local school board and on the Woodstock Fire Department, Company Two. After writing about Woodstock's free firewood program, a lifeline for older and financially struggling residents, I started volunteering for the grassroots charity.
Professionally, I'm an award-winning journalist, who has contributed to The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Guardian, among other publications. The skills that I developed during three decades as a reporter—expose unfairness, talk to experts across the political spectrum, check facts, get to the point—hopefully will help me succeed as an elected official.
I am humbly asking for your support.
